The Aurora Eagles 2012 Season
The Aurora Eagles would like to thank Mike Nisbet and his wonderful staff at Westview Golf Club for their continued support again this season. We could not have had such a successful 2012 season without the generous donation of their beautiful facility. We would also like to thank Golf Fitter, Ian Hale, for the donation of both his time and expertise throughout the season. Thanks to his help, our athletes were well equipped to compete. The Aurora Eagles attended the Brampton Invitation Gold Tournament on July 7th and the Special Olympics Ontario Annual Golf Tournament in Stouffville on September 7th. Many of our athletes were in attendance and we look forward to representing Aurora at these events again next year. Registration for next season will take place in
June 2013. For more information, please contact Katie Vickers at aurora.golf.manager@specialolympicsontario.ca
Details for the 2013 season will be posted here as soon as known
Golf Season 2012 comes to an end
Our Second Season of Golf ends and we give a great BIG “thank you” to Coaches, Volunteers and Organizers and Westview Golf Club that helped in the golf practices and events throughout the Summer. We hope to see you all, Athletes and Volunteers for 2013 Golf Season. Aurora Eagles Golf Team compete at SOO 2012 Golf Open held at Rolling Hills Golf Course, Stouffville We Thank You - Inaugural Fundraising Golf Tournament for Special Olympics Ontario
We wish to Thank everyone for their support in our Inaugural Fundraising Golf Tournament for Special Olympics Ontario – Aurora Community. Thank You to those that played in the tournament, and those who Sponsored Holes, and those unable to participate in the tournament graciously who donated to our Fundraiser in other ways (Monetary, Prizes, etc.).
A huge Thank You also goes to our Host Golf
Course – Westview Golf Club – as
well as Mike Nisbet and his staff for a fabulous, well run day!
For the Volunteers who kept the day running smoothly, from Registration, taking pictures, selling Raffle tickets, to setting up the Prize Table, we Thank You.
We had a total of 16 Holes Sponsored, one being “Hole in One”. No winner this year!....all of your Sponsors signs looked great around the course! Without question the players appreciated the signage. THANK YOU to High Print Company for donating the sign printing.
Combining the registration fees, raffle ticket sales and donations, a significant amount of money was raised that will help support the Special Olympics Ontario – Aurora Community. This funding will allow opportunity not only for existing team programs but also allow additional new sports to be considered. Within our teams these funds will enhance training for our athletes, which in turn will advance them to different levels of competition.
It was a great day, our heartfelt thanks to all - We hope you had as much fun as we did! We are already planning for next year so mark your calendars in advance for JUNE 2113! |
