The Dunks are running a NOVICE and ADVANCED Basketball Program.

NOVICE PROGRAM -  Monday evenings  6.30pm – 8.00 pm

Location: Newmarket High School, 505 Pickering Crescent, Newmarket, L3Y 8H1

ADVANCED PROGRAM – Wednesday evenings 6.30pm – 8.00 pm

Location: Clearmeadow Public School, 200 Clearmeadow Blvd, Newmarket, L3X 2E4

December 2017

During our Monday night practice (December 4th) Inspector Lou Malbeuf of York Regional Police stopped by and presented a cheque for 15K to Special Olympics Ontario from proceeds of the Rob Plunkett Memorial Softball tournament. The tournament is an annual Special Olympics fundraiser run to commemorate the memory of Police Office Rob Plunkett who was killed in the line of duty.

Buckers Cup 3

Aurora Ducks take part in Buckers Cup 3 at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. April 2017. This a 3 on 3 tournament. A Newmarket Special Olympic team member Isaac helped and Aurora team players seen here Jordy, Carter, and Simon.

Buckster Cup - 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

April 18th the Buskers Cup Competition was held at the new Pan Am Sports Facility in Toronto. There were 30 teams entered. The senior Dunks team went 4-0 and won their division!

Special Olympics Ontario-Aurora Recipients of Mayor’s Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser

SOO-Aurora was presented with a cheque by the Mayor of Aurora, for the generous amount of two thousand five hundred dollars raised by the Mayor’s annual golf tournament fundraiser.

Over March break weekend 7 players from the Aurora Dunks played in the annual Mary Matthews Tournament at St. Andrew's College. With 2 wins, 1 tie and a loss, the Dunks managed to place 3rd in their division!"

Mayor Dawe donates to Special Olympics Ontario – Aurora and the Special Olympics Ontario Summer Games 2013. 


Mayor Dawe presented a $5000 cheque to the Special Olympics athletes on Wed Nov 14th.  This money will be used to fund the development of programs for the athletes in Aurora in addition to supporting the summer games.  The funds were donated on behalf of the 2012 Aurora Mayor’s Charity Golf Classic. 

Special Olympics Ontario Summer Games 2013 will be hosted by the York Regional Police with the support of 500 volunteers from York Region.  This 3-day event held from July 11 to 14, 2013 will see 900 athletes compete at venues across the region.   To get involved go to

The Dunks compete at The Mary Matthews Tournament

The Mary Matthews Tournament this year was played at St. Andrews College in Aurora.  This tournament, a one day event, is one of the most anticipated tournaments of the season where teams competing with each other throughout day.  A great time was had by all players.  View Pictures click here
