NCCP Special Olympics Ontario Courses

All volunteers are asked to take either the 1 day NCCP Community Course (for admin positions) or the 1 day NCCP Competitive Course (for coaches or admin positions).  NCCP focuses on essentials, placing emphasis on safety, fun, ethics, teamwork and values beyond the game. Training helps volunteers foster love of the sport, promote participation and teach basic skills to beginners of all ages through a variety of activities. Note that you are considered a volunteer, not a coach, until the NCCP Competitive Course has been taken.

All individuals who will be coaching at competitions are expected to take the 1 day NCCP Course, and those who will be coaching at higher level games including Provincial Games are expected to take additional training including: Ethical Decision Making and Sport Specific NCCP training. These higher level training courses must be approved by your Head Coach, and the cost will be fully reimbursed upon completion.
