Dan Banks has his own fitness program through CrossFit Crux, in Stouffville, a CrossFit training facility. Last year Crux members got together to work out for 24 hours straight managing to help raise $5,000 for Special Olympics. Dan helped organize the group of special needs athletes to attended last year’s event.  This year Dan again is helping Crux for another 24 hours “workout-of-the-day” or better described as “workout-of-the-hour” times 24.

This friendly competition doesn't cost anything to register, but participants are asked to try and get donations for the cause.  All proceeds raised go to support the Special Olympics Canada foundation.

Dan Banks stated "This is an excellent opportunity to bring awareness to people with intellectual disabilities who like us have a love for sport.  For the past 5 years I have been coaching Special Olympics basketball and softball in Aurora. The athletes that I have coached have inspired me at home, at work and at the gym. The spirit of inclusion and universal access to fitness are pillars to both Special Olympics and CrossFit; bringing the two together seems like such a natural partnership and I hope others will join me in this fun and challenging event."

The CF24 event will run on October 22, 2016, for full details about CF24 event either as a team or individual please contact CrossFit Crux
